By applying for seller status with EthicalBox LTD “EthicalBox” you, the seller, ensure that your company, and the products and services you will be providing, all adhere to EthicalBox’s minimum code of ethical conduct. This code is as follows:

  1. Your company must have no involvement in the use of sweatshops, not only in the production of goods sold on Ethicalbox, but in the production of any products associated with your company, brand or business.
  2. Your company’s products must be produced without the use of child labour in any form, at any point in the supply chain. In this case we define ‘child labour’ as work of any form that deprives children of their childhood, their potential and their dignity, and that is harmful to their physical and mental development.
  3. Your company must function with absolute respect for internationally recognised standards of workers’ rights, as defined by the International Labour Organisation (ILO). These core labour standards consist of the right to freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining; the elimination of forced and compulsory labour in any form; the effective abolition of child labour; and the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation. Employees must respect their workers’ rights to a living wage; with humane working hours and no forced overtime; in a safe and healthy workplace free from harassment; and with a recognised employment relationship with labour and social protection.

As the goods provider, it is your obligation to ensure that your goods thoroughly meet with these criteria throughout all stages of the supply chain. It is vital that you are aware of the procedures involved in all of your company’s production methods, and that you do not apply for seller status without the full knowledge of your own company’s ethical practices. If it is discovered at a later date that you do not meet with our requirements, then this will severely affect your company’s ability to sell products on the site.

If at any point we find you to be in breach of our ethical code of conduct, we shall remove all products from the website pending investigation, and if the presence of ethical misconduct is confirmed then we have the right to revoke your seller status and terminate all future involvement with your company until we believe the issue has been sufficiently rectified. We are a company based on trust and transparency, and as a result breaches of ethical conduct are taken extremely seriously. If you continue to fail to meet our ethical standards, then we reserve the right to prohibit all future association with you and your products.
